    Research Paper Unit (Due date will be determined by teacher.)
    Note: Grade 12 research papers should use the following guidelines:

  • 3-10 pages

  • 5 sources with no more than 2 from the Internet

  • Note card

  • Outline

  • Rough draft

  • Final draft

  • Works Cited page
    Students may use career research paper materials from 11th grade as foundation for 12th grade research papers.

(I, T) Handout provides table demonstrating ways to combine independent and dependent clauses followed by descriptions and examples for common punctuation errors to avoid

Tools for Reading, Writing, & Thinking
(B, I, T) Graphic organizer library including the following topics: academic note-taking, cause & effect, claim / evidence / interpretation, characterization, classification, collaborative questions, compare / contrast, comparisons, conflict, discussion, event maps, expository writing, fact vs. opinion, four square perspective, inductive main idea, inference, key concepts, KWL, main idea, prediction, etc.
