Espanol from Ronnie Konner Week 14
This site contains five lessons including homework on family vocabulary.

El Bosque Lluvioso
This contains helpful activities for learning about the Costa Rican rainforests, limited animal vocabulary, and internet activities.

Espanol from Ronnie Konner Week 19
This site has lessons on conjugations and descriptions.

El Tiempo en Chile
In this activity you will be visiting four websites for the weather and a converter for Celsius to Fahrenheit temperatures.

Planning a Vacation to Spain
In this lesson students will learn  to create a travel brochure for a destination in Spain. Working in groups, students will be able to create a travel brochure for their hometown.

Mapping the Border
Students will study the geography and physical environment of the borderlands region. In creating maps, they will not only use geography skills, but bring to bear their own sociological/critical thinking about the border in especially designing a unique border map.

Mexico - Language and Literature
The students will develop their language and literature skills and knowledge by engaging themselves within a realm of the Mexican culture.

Tasty Tidbits from Spain
Students will gain and use vocabulary which deals with some Spanish foods.  They will also compare typical American meals with typical Spanish meals.

Mexican Food
This lesson introduces Mexican food and the history behind it. The main objective of this lesson is to introduce new food vocabulary to the students. In addition, the students will also participate in classroom activities, make a menu of their own, take quizzes, and use the internet to practice the vocabulary. The students will apply what they learn in a Mexican restaurant, by ordering their meal in Spanish

Que Hora Es? What Time Is It?
Students will learn how to ask the time and tell the time correctly in Spanish. They will make paper plate clocks and practice asking and responding with a partner in Spanish.

¡Tarjetas Postales!
This lesson is intended for a beginning-intermediate Spanish class. Students design postcards to reflect the life and/or work of a Spanish-speaking artist. Students also write personal messages in Spanish for practice in vocabulary terms that have to do with traveling, greetings & farewells, food, climate, and other such typical themes found on postcards.

Cup Games: Question Words
This lesson, the traditional "cup game" is adapted to help students memorize the question words (who, what, when, where, why, how) in Spanish.  Students will be able to ask and answer questions using the Spanish interrogative words.

The Mayans
This is an interdisciplinary unit which will explore why the Mayan are not as prominent today as they were in the past. Students will also develop a better understanding of Mayan culture and their civilization.

Building Communities/Construyendo Comunidades
The objective of the lesson is to allow students to take responsibility for their own learning of a foreign language through exploring the theme of what community means. All groups develop their own core vocabulary of words associated with their concept of community. For the Grade and Middle School students the lessons should be  kept at a concrete-operation cognitive level. For High School students their theme remains the same, but their development is more on the abstract cognitive level.

Questions and Answers in a Foreign Language
The object of this lesson is for students to recognize all the interrogative words, how to phrase questions and how to answer questions in a foreign language.

Foreign Language Months/Vocabulary Card Game
This lesson is designed to reinforce names of months in the target foreign language, teach auxiliary vocabulary, and give students a chance to practice listening.

Using Powerpoint to learn vocabulary
The purpose of this lesson is for the students to learn the Spanish terminology for family members; to learn how to use Microsoft Power Point; to learn how to use a scanner.

La Familia
After initial vocabulary presentation, you can allow the students to practice recognition with a hopscotch board  made with the pictures of the family members as the separate boxes. The students use the family vocabulary as well as reinforce numbers.

¡Tu eres profesor(a)!
This lesson is designed as a review for a chapter test.  Each student will take the role as instructor to develop and teach their own lesson plan to the class.

CNN En Español CNN world news in Spanish. A great resource for Sports, weather, international concerns, health, fashion and everything else you are used to from CNN.

Online Resources-Spanish This site is dedicated to materials for language learning. It includes courses, grammar, links to practice materials in all four modalities, and much more.

Webspañol This site has pronunciation, verbs, lessons, links and much more. This site boasts of their commitment to Spanish Language study with Internet resources.

Spanish Grammar Exercises This site is a wonderful practice resource for all those fine tune grammar points that students struggle with so often. Try it out!

TeachSpanish.com This Country Resource Center will allow you to explore any Latin American country you choose in either English or Spanish. Also, when you get to a country, simply click on the country flag to get some general demographic information in English about that country.

Spanish Storytelling Here is a collection of ideas for teaching command-verbs in Spanish.
Focus. - Students listen to teacher utter commands in Spanish and as teacher acts out these commands, students respond by moving just like the teacher.
