Lesson Plans:

El Mundo Maya
This lesson can be a group activity on the Mayan world past and present.

Una Visita al Zoo de Madrid
This site takes you to a zoo in Madrid, Spain. There are good reading assignments and activities.

Spanish Mathematics
This activity provides a way to integrate foreign language instruction and mathematics. The teacher prepares math word problems in Spanish (using vocabulary already taught) to teach concepts such as tax, discounts, and percentage.

A tribute to Miró
In this lesson Students create a modern artist's painting in the style of Spanish artist Joan Miró (1893-1983). Students explore how horizontal, vertical and curved lines can be combined with basic geometric and natural shapes to create an original painting.

Urbanization/Urbanizacion: A Theme for teaching Geography and Spanish
This lesson plan is designed to help students improve their Spanish language skills by using those skills in a study of the Geography of Latin America. Included areas of study are population growth, and environmental concerns.

Building Communities/Construyendo Comunidades
The objective of the lesson is to allow students to take responsibility for their own learning of a foreign language through exploring the theme of what community means. All groups develop their own core vocabulary of words associated with their concept of community. For the Grade and Middle School students the lessons should be kept at a concrete-operation cognitive level. For High School students their theme remains the same, but their development is more on the abstract cognitive level.

Border History
In this lesson students will understand the historical origins of Ciudad Juárez or another border city in their region.

Internet Encyclopedia 2040
This lesson is called Internet Encyclopedia 2040 and it involves students looking forward to the future and writing about their past in an "Internet Encyclopedia" entry.

El Supermercado
This lesson serves to reinforce the lessons involving learning about Spanish foods and shopping. While the teacher advises, this is really a student-directed activity.

Hispanic World Unit
In this unit, students will conduct primary and secondary research to know the "hispanohablantes" in the world. These explorations will serve as windows for these Spanish-speaking countries for students to acquire information and impression from different perspectives . Students are supposed to conduct the researches by using their Spanish ability to comprehend the information on Internet.

Hispanic World Unit Lesson 3: Mexico Field Trip
In this lesson the whole group will discuss the largest Spanish-speaking country in the world. From library or WWW resources in team work, students will get general/profound knowledge about this country. Also they will specially develop insight into our own language and culture while getting to know Mexico, the neighbor of the United States. 

Hispanic World Unit Lesson 1: The Hispanic World
The whole group will discuss the Spanish-speaking countries in the world. Students will develop general knowledge about the cultural background of these countries, ancient cultures in Mexico, Central America, and Peru, Spanish conquistadors in the16th century, the independence, and current development.

Hispanic World Unit Lesson 4: Central America and the Caribbean
The whole group discusses the Spanish-speaking countries in Central America and the Caribbean. From library or WWW resources in team work, students will get general/profound knowledge about the Hispanic countries in the area.

Hispanic World Unit Lesson 5: South America Field Trip
This site takes you to a South American field trip and the whole group discusses the Spanish-speaking countries in South America. The class is divided into teams and using the library or WWW resources  will get general/profound knowledge about the Hispanic countries in the area.

Webspañol: Spanish Language Resources on-line This site boasts of their commitment to Spanish Language study with Internet resources.
