French I Std. 5.2 Students show evidence of becoming life-long learners by using the language for personal enjoyment enrichment.

Lesson Plans: Museums, Museums, Museums! Students will recognize the name of the museum, the address, telephone number, hours of operation, admittance rates, and select two works of art that are of personal interest to the student. Tour de France In this unit, students learn about the provinces of France, thoroughly researching one of them. They write a persuasive argument to an imaginary committee who will be choosing the route for the next Tour de France. Au Cinema/ At the Movies Students will practice reading, writing, and saying vocabulary associated with going to the movies. In a small group presentation, students will be given a film genre from which they must write and perform a script for the class. La Cuisine Française In this technology-connected lesson, students will create a one-page menu for a French restaurant with "Spécialités du Jour" from three different francophone (French-speaking) countries or cultures. Internet-connected computers and word processing software are necessary to implement this lesson.
