Using Newspapers to Improve Vocabulary Newspapers are used as the primary resource for a variety of activities designed to increase student vocabulary. Friendship Cards from Romeo and Juliet The purpose of this activity is to have students use the internet to locate a familiar quotation from Romeo and Juliet and to interpret that quotation by making a friendship card. SAT or Foreign Language Vocabulary Students work in small groups to create a restaurant menu using SAT vocabulary words.
