Lesson Plans:
Now What?
After listening to the story Two Bad Ants, by Chris Van
Allsburg, students will work in pairs to draw pictures, write
sentences, and make predictions about what will happen next.
A Frosty Webquest
This webquest uses the book The Snowy Day, by Ezra Jack Keats,
as a starting point for kids to write a story about a snowy day.
There are some great resources that accompany this project. Kids
who have never seen snow before may really like this idea.
Writing a Fantasy Story: Part One
In this lesson,
children listen to a fantasy story and identify the beginning, the
middle, and the end of the story. They explore character descriptions
and write one as a class. They write the beginning part of their
fantasy story and share it with the class.
