Lesson Plans:

A Fishy Tale
Students will predict and then recall details of the story, Big Al. Students will discuss sentences that summarize the story. Students will be divided into small groups to design a page using one of the detail sentences about the story. All the cooperative groups will then contribute their page to make a class book about the story.

Friendship Story Web Writing
This lesson teaches qualities of a friendship by creating a friendship web and writing a story about a best friend.  After listening to the story, Clifford's Pals by Norman Bridwell, students will learn how to make a story web and will create one of their own.  This students will enjoy writing and sharing their stories with one another.

What's in a Name
Using The Legend of Bluebonnet by Tomie dePaola as an example, students will choose a name for themselves.  Then they will write three sentences explaining why it would be a good name.
