Everyday Spelling for First Grade

Look, Cover, Write, Check:  This game is a good way for students to practice spelling words from several different lists.

Harcourt Brace Spelling Word Builder:  Unscramble the words from particular spelling lists.

Stellar Speller:  First graders will enjoy this spelling game.

Suggestions for English Language Learners:

Students copy sentences correctly from text. Students check to see if they are the same as the original.

Students point to words that represent nouns or verbs.

Students repeat and rehearse nouns and verbs after the teacher pronounces them.

Students punctuate sentences with commas, periods and question marks as needed.
