Lesson Plans:

Appositive Action
In this lesson, students will learn to combine two or more descriptive sentences and action sentences into one sentence with an appositive phrase.

Compound Butterflies
The objective for the lesson is writing and punctuating compound sentences. The students will use a butterfly pattern to practice combining sentences in the correct manner.

Transition Words and Phrases
Students will learn to combine sentences using two kinds of transition words:  time transitions and thought (logical) transitions.

Successful Paragraphs
This activity guides students through the writing process for a successful five-sentence paragraph with varied sentence beginnings. Repeating this process frequently with many, varied topics teaches students to use variety to create interesting paragraphs.
