Lug and the Giant Stork - Capital Letters
This lesson plan utilizes an online game that teaches recognition of capital letters.

What's in a Name?  Teaching Concepts of Letter and Word
Understanding that those ABCs in the song are letters that we use to make words is a big leap for many kindergarten students. We can use something as familiar and nonthreatening as their names and the names of their classmates as a starting place for reading and writing.

Resources:

The Sentence Song:  This song teaches the basics about writing a sentence.  Read the lyrics and listen to a clip of the song.

Early Childhood Writing:  These organizers show students how to write sentences.  They will be given the opportunity to practice using a capital letter to begin the sentences.
