Suggestions for English Language Learners:
(E/B=Entering/Beginning, D=Developing, E=Expanding)
(E/B) Say a sentence and have
student repeat the sentence and clap where the period should go.
(D) Have student copy
a sentence that is missing a period and place the period in the
right place.
(D) Retell
individually or with a partner.
(D) Listen to a book or tape of a story which has a simple,
predictable pattern.
(D) Supply missing words when story is read aloud.
(E) Respond orally to questions.
(E) Tell if a pattern is correct or incorrect by substituting a
word or phrase choice.
