Lesson Plans: I Am Here Today This is to help children learn the letters in their name and the order of the letters to make their name. Rhyme Your Name Children will use examples from the book that is presented to create rhymes for their own classroom book. The House That Drac Built Haunted Houses Students will build a haunted house & learn their address.

There are several activities geared for this objective. Name Recognition: A suggestion for learning names Suggestions for English Language Learners: (E/B=Entering/Beginning, D=Developing, E=Expanding) (E/B) Students give first name and respond to commands when requested. (E/B) Students point correctly to their name label on their desks. (E/B, D, E) Students place birthdays on a wall calendar after they tell the date to the class. (D) Students give personal data such as first and last names, age, telephone number, birth date, parents’ names and home address upon request.
