1.4 Describe the function of instruments and technology used to investigate Earth's weather

Lesson Plans:

Collecting and Interpreting Weather Data

Set up room or/and outside into different lab stations with equipment at each station to teach students how to use weather instruments.

Measure Rainfall
Students make a rain gauge to collect and record rain fall.

Observing Wind
Students will make a weather vane to measure the wind.

Make a Barometer
Students will make a barometer to measure the air pressure.

Make a Psychrometer
Students will make a psychrometer to measure the amount of relative humidity in the air.

Graphing Rainfall
Students will use Excel to create a graph of rain fall at the school.
