Transpiration in Plants
This lesson is designed for middle school and high school. The objectives for this lesson are as follows: 1) Students will understand how the forces of adhesion and cohesion and the process of transpiration aid in the transportation of water through the plant. 2) Students will recognize the form and function ofstomata.

Plant Parents
In this lesson, students will come to understand that most plants usually reproduce sexually. Students will learn the parts of the flower and the process of sexual reproduction in plants.

Classifying Plants Using Technology
This lesson teaches students to use taxonomic groupings to classify plants found on the school grounds.  Students will be photographing, analyzing, and comparing species.

Birth of a Plant From a Seed
Students shall be able to label parts of a dicotyledon seed by function as well as by proper names.

Fruits and Vegetables
Plant reproduction and response helps students understand the difference between plants with seeds and seedless plants. In this activity students are surprised to learn that any of the items commonly called vegetables or nuts are really fruits.

Plasmolysis in Elodea Plant Cells
Students will microscopically observe various subcellular components and determine the effects of different salt solutions on Elodea plant cells.

Parts of a Green Plant
The learner will learn four parts of a green plant and the functions of each part.

Which Sex Is It?
Students will be able to identify the parts of a flower.

Leaf Collection
Students must collect, identify, and describe characteristics of leaves. Includes detailed requirements and grading criteria.

Observing Tree Rings
Students will determine the age of a tree and see if we can determine what years had more precipitation than others.
