Lesson Plans: Birth of a Plant From a Seed Students shall be able to label parts of a dicotyledon seed by function as well as by proper names. Flower Dissection Lab Student work sheets guiding the examination and dissection of monocot and dicot flowers. Transpiration in Plants Students will understand how the forces of adhesion and cohesion and the process of transpiration aid in the transportation of water through the plant. Students will recognize the form and function of stomata. Plant Parents In this lesson, students will come to understand that most plants usually reproduce sexually. Students will learn the parts of the flower and the process of sexual reproduction in plants. Plasmolysis in Elodea Plant Cells Students will microscopically observe various subcellular components and determine the effects of different salt solutions on Elodea plant cells. Parts of a Green Plant The learner will learn four parts of a green plant and the functions of each part. Which Sex Is It? Students will be able to identify the parts of a flower. Leaf Collection Project Compare external leaf characteristics Observing Tree Rings Students will determine the age of a tree and see if we can determine what years had more precipitation than others.
