Ear Guitar
This site gives instructions for making an ear guitar.
Suggestions for English Language Learners (ELLs):
(E/B=Entering/Beginning, D=Developing, E=Expanding)
(E/B): Match of sounds to pictures/objects.
(E/B): Identify the sounds animals/weather/forms of
transportation make.
(E/B): Students will show thumbs up if they hear loud or soft
sounds.
(D): Classify animals/weather/forms of transportation by the
sounds they make (or type of sound they make....soft/loud, etc.).
(E/B, D, E): Student acts out an animal or form of
transportation while the class guesses what it is.
(E/B, D, E): Point to a picture of an animal or form of
transportation on a page and have the child use words or actions to
identify it.
(E/B, D, E): Students will show thumbs up if they hear loud
or soft sounds, pleasant or unpleasant, or high/low pitch.
(E/B, D, E): Take students outdoors and ask them to listen
carefully to all the sounds around them. Later, discuss the
different sounds and encourage students to make up sound words for
what they heard. make a list of students' invented sound words.
