Lesson Plans: Double Replacement Reactions To observe the formation of new substances in double displacement reactions. Types of Chemical Reactions In this experiment you will observe nine different chemical reaction and identify the type of each reaction on the basis of the products formed. Activation Energy The student will define the terms endothermic, exothermic, and activation energy. Heat of Reaction - Hess's Law In this experiment, you will measure and compare the quantity of heat involved in three reactions. These heats of reaction will be measured using a styrofoam calorimeter. EXOTHERMIC AND ENDOTHERMIC REACTIONS Students are to observe several exothermic and endothermic reactions, determine the changes that take place in a chemical reaction, and to observe how fast a reaction is taking place and what factors influence a chemical reaction.
