Std 6:   Identify characteristics of gravitational, electromagnetic, and nuclear forces.
• Differentiate between the basic fundamental forces of nature
• Define their role of the basic fundamental forces of nature in atomic structure.

Lesson Plans:

Introduction To Magnets
The students will familiarize themselves with several different kinds of magnets.  They will observe the forces of attraction and repulsion between the different poles, and the forces of magnetism, electromagnetism and static electricity.

GRAVITATIONAL FORCE: AN INTERNET BASED LESSON PLAN
The objective of this lesson is for students to be familiar with Sir Isaac Newton, the development of his Law of Universal Gravitation.

Understanding Electricity
Copper and other materials with loosely held electrons are conductors of electricity.

Electrostatics
High school students will identify two types of charges and will observe the charging of with various objects by friction, conduction, and induction.

Strength of a Magnet's Field
Determine bar magnet's field strength

Magnetic Field of the Earth
Measure the horizontal (H) component of the Earth's Magnetic Field

GRAVITATIONAL PULL - WEIGHT WATCHERS AND REVOLUTIONS
Gravity is the force or pull between any two objects. It is the same force which pulls the planets in elliptical orbits around the sun.

Atomic Theory
Rutherford's gold foil experiment, performed in conjunction with Geiger and Marsden, provided evidence for the nucleus due to the scattering of alpha particles. The repulsion of some alpha particles suggested that the nucleus is positively charged, containing protons.

Atomic Physics
Rutherford's alpha particle bombardment experiment.
