Std 12:  Identify metric units for mass, distance, time, temperature, velocity, acceleration, density, force, energy, and power.
• Assign fundamental SI base units to measurements
• Make conversions between SI prefixes (dimensional analysis)

Lesson Plans:

Dimensional Analysis
Students will review important basic facts of chemistry, use concepts of metric system, and consider large numbers with "real world" application.

Acceleration Lab
Series of motion labs.

Acceleration
To develop an understanding of velocity and to distinguish it from speed. To learn to determine the difference between a scalar and a vector quantity. To learn how acceleration is derived from velocity and time.

Reaction Time
Each student will be able to obtain his/her reaction time by making simple
measurements. Each student will also be able to find the constituent parts of
their overall reaction time.

Motion of a Bowling Ball
The students will be able to make a distance vs. time graph of a bowling ball
and have practice reading distance vs. time graphs of various motions.

Mass/Acceleration
To see the relationship between mass and acceleration of an object.
