Std 14:  Apply scientific principles related to fluids and calculate characteristic properties related to them.
• Explain, demonstrate, and calculate characteristic fluid properties related to the following: Gas Laws, Bernouli’s Principle, Pascal’s Principle, and Archimedes’ Principle

Lesson Plans:

Bernoulli Effect
This lesson will show the relationship between velocity and pressure of a fluid.  The demonstrations should be appropriate for all levels.

Bathtub Physics  - Density, Buoyancy and Flotation
Understand Archimedes' Principle, flotation and the reaction of
buoyant
forces.  Explain the relationship between density and flotation.

Come Fly With Me
Students will observe examples of Bernoulli's principle.

Introduction to Bernoulli's Principle
Students will observe and document behavior of materials that undergo a change in fluid velocity nearby.

Bernoulli's Principle and Winged Flight
The objectives are (1) to see how the decrease in air pressure which occurs when air is moving (relative to air which is not moving or is moving more slowly) allows birds to fly.

Bubble-ology and Bernoulli
The purpose of this activity is to introduce aerodynamics to the students by challenging them to devise the best ways to keep a bubble aloft. In this fun context, you'll teach Bernoulli's principle and help explain how airplanes fly.

Boyle, Bernoulli and Charles
To solve problems using Boyle's Law, Bernoulli's Principle, and Charles's Law.

Virtual Laboratory
Great applet! In this series of experiments, you will control the action of a piston in a pressure chamber which is filled with an ideal gas.

Relationships: Pressure, Volume, and Temperature
Students will be able to state the relationships of pressure to volume and
pressure to temperature, and volume to temperature for a gas.

Chemistry Is A Gas
The student will be able to apply the conventional gas laws in the
determination of volume changes resulting from changes in temperature,
pressures, or number of moles of the gas.

Resources:

Elements
Excellent information about the elements on the periodic table of elements.

Chem4kids
Great tutorials and activities.
