Std 7-1:    Calculate genotypic and phenotypic percentages and ratios using a Punnett square.

Lesson Plans:

Beans and Genes
DISTINGUISH EXPECTED AND OBSERVED GENETIC RATIOS

Bunny Babies
Bunny Babies is an activity that can be used to reinforce the role of probability in the inheritance of traits. In this activity students use coins to represent the gametes of their bunny baby parents.

Create a Kid
Students flip a pair of coins to determine what genotype and what phenotype their child will have for 29 given traits. They then draw a picture of their kid based on their coin flip phenotypes.

Inheritance of Maize
To calculate the phenotypic ratios for some monohybrid and dihybrid crosses.
To determine the genotypes of parents from the phenotypic ratios of their
offspring.
