Lesson Plans: PERIODICITY (THE PERIODIC TABLE) Students show the historical importance of the Periodic Table as a predictive device. The Structure of the Periodic Table Students relate the structure of the atom to the structure of the periodic table and use the periodic table to form compounds. Atomic Structure The students will understand atomic structure from an historical viewpoint. Why Are Electrons Important? The student will be able to write the electron configuration of any element, given the atomic number. Given the location of an element on the periodic table, the student will be able to give the highest energy level the valence electrons are on, and how many valence electrons it has. Periodic Table Bingo In this lesson students will learn to interpret the periodic table through a game format.
