HS, Chemistry
Std 6.5: Determine empirical or molecular formulas for a compound using percent composition data.

Lesson Plans:

Mass Relationships in Chemical Reactions
Students prepare and determine the percentage yield of sodium chloride, and gain an understanding of mass relationships in chemical reactions.

Empirical Formulas
Find the molecular formula, given the molecular mass and the empirical formula.

Molecular Modeling
Students will learn how to generate three-dimensional images of some simple inorganic and organic molecules they encounter in their introductory chemistry class.

Percent Composition of Gum
Students will understand the concept of percent composition of compounds and be able to perform the associated calculations.

Resources:

THE SAME EVERYWHERE
Chem-4-kids periodic table.

Tom Stretton's Chemistry Pages
Great tutorials and practice problems

The Periodic Table of Comic Books
Associates each element with a comic reference - fun

Interactive Periodic Table
Created by an eighth-grade student!

Chemicool Periodic Table
This is an all-purpose, interactive periodic table that would be useful for high-school chemistry classes. In addition to general information about the elements, it includes the following: states, energies, oxidation and electrons, appearance and characteristics, reactions, conductivity, abundances, and more.

Pyrotechnics: It's Elemental
Some of the important elements that make a firework work.

Chem4kids
Great tutorials and activities.
