Std 28:  Explain wave behavior in terms of reflection, refraction, and diffraction.

Lesson Plans:

The Color Spectrum: How Does It Work?
In this activity, students will create a model of the infrared, visible, and ultraviolet portions of the electromagnetic spectrum. The model they create will be made to scale based on wavelength. In order to complete this lab, students should understand the metric system and be able to convert between different metric units. They should also understand the concepts of wavelength and frequency.

Observing Sound Waves
Imagine what happens when you drop a stone into a pool of water. Waves ripple out from the spot where the stone entered the water. Those water waves are similar to how sound waves travel through the air.

Refraction Through a Glass Block
Trace a refracted light ray through a glass block and calculate the index of refraction

Critical Angle
Determine critical angle for substances using Snell's Law
