Benchmark I: Use available technology and information resources to reinforce and support writing in all content areas (COS 18, 31, 33)

Lesson Plans:

Ready For Research
Using a children's multimedia encyclopedia, a small group of fluent readers will work independently to choose a topic of interest and share what they have learned.

What Can I Write About?
Students will read the work of professional and student authors then review the elements of a story. They will generate several different characters, problems, and settings during a brainstorming session before developing a collaborative story with the teacher.

Letter Writing
The students will write letters to the President and First Lady via e-mail.

Paragraph Writing
The students will create a paragraph. They will make a paragraph sandwich. The students will use the strategies they have learned to create effective paragraphs to e-mail to pen pals.
