Lesson Plans: Pen Pal Letters to Soldiers Overseas Students write letters to soldiers overseas with correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, and capitalization. All About Our Town: Using Brochures to Teach Informational Writing In this lesson, students in grades 2–4 practice information gathering by exploring their town or city through interviews, photographs, and websites. They then write and revise paragraphs about their town and collaborate to create a visitor's brochure aimed at students who are new to the area.
