All About Our Town: Using Brochures to Teach Informational Writing
In this lesson, students in grades 2–4 practice information gathering by exploring their town or city through interviews, photographs, and websites. They then write and revise paragraphs about their town and collaborate to create a visitor's brochure aimed at students who are new to the area.

Writing an Original Fable
Students will write original fables using the stages of the writing process and, in small groups, perform their fables as skits.

R Is For Revolutionary War
Students will write an alliterative poem/paragraph using the writing process.
