Lesson Plans:

The Big Green Monster

Students also examine onset/rime patterns by generating word families, review high-frequency vocabulary through a memory card game, and apply phonics skills during a writing activity.

Silly Kindergarten
Make a class book in the style of Silly Sally.  This includes a suggestion for students using the computer.

The Letter Slide
A story for blending sounds into words; also an activity for children who are having difficulty understanding the concept of blending.

Word Family Jamboree
The lesson will involve the introduction of the word family (-at). The teacher will read the book The Cat In the Hat by Dr. Seuss. The teacher will dictate five simple sentences using the (-at) family word pattern and familiar word wall words. The students will illustrate the writings.

Letter War
After reading The War Between the Vowels and the Consonants by Priscilla Turner, the students create words using letter tiles.
